English Pronunciation: Polishing your American Accent
Since 2015, Jennie Parker has taught English Pronunciation: Polishing your American Accent through Emory Continuing Education (ECE). She offers in-person classes several times a year through the program. Register through the ECE website.
Course Description: In this course, international speakers of English will have the opportunity to improve their American pronunciation of English through targeted practice and direct feedback from the instructor. Emphasis will be on the modification of vowel and consonant pronunciation, but the course may also address word stress, rhythm, and intonation, depending on learners’ needs. As learners focus on changing pronunciation, they will also acquire American formal and informal expressions in a relaxed, workshop-style course setting. Limited to 15 participants.
