Tired of people focusing more on how you are speaking than what you are saying? Join us for our short course focused on improving your American English pronunciation. Work in a small group with an experienced communication coach to practice American English vowels and consonants, as well as rhythm and intonation. This course is suitable for high intermediate to advanced nonnative English speakers.
When: April 11 - May 9, 2023. Tuesdays, 12:00p - 1:00p EST
Location: Online (Zoom) Fee: $125 Limited to four participants Sample Schedule (tentative - the final schedule will be based on the pronunciation needs of registered participants): April 11 - Practicing /i/ v. /ɪ/ ("sheep" v. "ship"); Word Stress April 18 - Practicing Schwa ("combine"); Content and Function Words April 25 - Practicing R; Focus Words and Thought Groups May 2 - Practicing TH; Rhythm in Context May 9 - Practicing V, B, W; Intonation in Context Description: In this short course, work with an experienced communciation coach to clearly articulate problematic sounds in American English. We'll work with the sounds in isolation, in words, and in the context of larger passages. In addition, we will practice American rhythm and intonation patterns. We'll also discuss and practice ways to continue improving your pronunciation outside of class. Note: If you represent an organization or company and wish to register multiple participants, please contact us to schedule a private custom course to better suit your needs.

ABSENCES: Slides will be available to any participant who misses a class. Due to the group nature of the course, recordings of the classes will not be made available. No refunds can be given to participants who miss a class.
